Stoinis remains under CWC injury cloud
Australia will monitor the fitness of allrounder Marcus Stoinis this week and could make a decision on whether to call Mitch Marsh into their World Cup squad by Friday.
Stoinis suffered a side strain in Sunday's loss to India, and was ruled out of Wednesday's clash with Pakistan in Taunton.
At this stage Australia are unsure how long he will remain sidelined for, and if he will be available to face Sri Lanka on Saturday at The Oval in London.
Complicating the situation further is that if Marsh is called into the squad, it would mean Stoinis would not be able to feature again in this World Cup.
Marsh is currently awaiting the team's arrival in London on Thursday, having flown over ahead of the rest of his Australia A teammates for their tour which starts next week.
The Stoinis injury has at least spelt good news for seamer Kane Richardson in the short term.
Stoinis is primarily considered a death bowler, an area where Australia were already unhappy with their game in their loss to India.
Richardson is considered one of the best in that department, and was called into the side at the expense of Adam Zampa when the team to play Pakistan was finalised.
